Where is it?
Slow down as you drive through the little roadside village of Olowalu, about 15 minutes before Lahaina Town if you’re coming from the airport, so you don’t miss this adorable plantation-style restaurant and pie shop where everything is prepared with care. From the old photos of the area, to the distressed wood and muted colors this place has atmosphere! They pride themselves on serving “glorified grandma comfort food” so you know you are in for a treat. They focus on farm fresh and sustainable ingredients and work with local providers to ensure they are offering the best product available to their customers. They are open 7 days a week from 7:00 am till 8:00 pm, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can call 808-663-3600, or check out their website www.leodas.com for more details.
They have fantastic sandwiches, or try a burger with Kula onions – all the breads are home baked and excellent. Most ingredients are sourced locally, and their salads are the best ever! Don’t get too full though, you have to leave enough room to try their pies, as these are what Leoda’s is famous for – pies to satisfy every taste and appetite! In the individual sizes they have savory chicken or meat n’ potato pot pies with a hearty herb and cheese crust, hand-held pies with sweet apple, sweet berry, savory mushroom, or corn and carnitas. They have full-size dessert pies, which just melt in your mouth – apple crumb, banana cream, berry, pumpkin, Olowalu lime, coconut cream and the all-time favorite – their macadamia nut, chocolate and praline pie! They also have pineapple-lemon and strawberry cream tarts. Of course they offer hot dogs too, and they have a menu just for kids so everyone is taken care of! So stop by and give yourself a big treat.
